ECO COUNCILLORS' CONVENTION

Our very successful Eco Councillors' Convention programme, trialled in March will be available again on these dates.  Groups of 6 to 8 Year 5 and 6 Eco Councillors are invited to join us, with a teacher, for a 2-day programme of eco inspiration.  Details are available here.

A meeting to be held at Swaffham Prior Primary School at 4 to 6pm on 30 June will provide inspiration for those who are interested in or are working towards the Eco Schools award.  For details click here.

GREEN OPEN DAY

Eco-themed action for all the family will be on offer at Stibbington Centre's Green Open Day.  Exhibitions and activities ranging from junk sculpture to pond dipping and clay modelling to energy saving will be running throughout the day from 10 till 4.  The Open Day will provide an ideal opportunity for children who have visited the Centre with their school to return, bringing their family along too. Booking not required.

GREEN DAY FOR SCHOOLS

Groups of 8 children, with accopanying adults, from lots of different schools are expected to take part in Stibbington Centre's special day of eco-action inspiration.  Sustainable travel to the Centre will be by a train ride on the Nene Valley Railway, and a host of activities will be on the agenda at the Centre.  Bookings are now being taken.  For full details see Stop Press.

UPWARE CENTRE

GREEN OPEN DAY

Visitors are invited to come along and celebrate Mother's Day in style at Upware Centre's Open Day.  Children who have been to the Centre on school visits might like to take Mums and the rest of the family on a tour.  Activities for all the family will include pond dipping, an energy trail, craft activities and environmental art.  Admission £2 children, £1 adults.  No need to book, just come along from 10am.  Closing time will be at 4pm.

RESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCE OPEN AFTERNOON

Interested Heads and teachers are invited to come along to Stibbington Centre for afternoon tea on Thursday 23 April at 3pm.Year 3 children from Cavalry Primary School who will be staying at the Centre will be playing host, leading guided tours and sharing with visitors their environmental learning experiences at Stibbington Residential Centre.

ECO SCHOOLS INSPIRATION

A series of 5 twilight workshops for teachers is to be held at various venues between March and June, beginning with Stapleford Primary School, near Cambridge on Tuesday 3 March. Each session will include information about the Eco Schools scheme, information about how the host school is working towards an Eco Schools award, and information from a guest"expert" on an Eco Schools theme.

Interested colleagues are invited to join a "SING UP" workshop at Stibbington Centre on Monday 2 Marchat 4 to 6pm.


The workshop is part of the national "Sing Up" programme which is designed to provide practical ideas on how to work with Primary School children, including warm ups, learning songs and interactive ideas. The workshop will be led by Mia Vigor of Sing Up.

There is no charge to attend this workshop but places are limited so please contact CEES Stibbington as soon as possible to reserve places.
