CEES Upware Centre:
Located in the heart of the Fens, Upware Centre is housed in the former village school building.
The Centre, which has achieved its national Eco Centre Award, contains two classrooms, attractively equipped with displays and interactive exhibits and a wide range of resources for art activities using the environment.
The compact but well designed grounds include picnic tables, a wildlife garden, vegetable plots and renewable energy installations.
A short walk away is Upware Centre’s unique South Pit nature reserve with ponds, woodland areas and a Jurassic fossil bank.
The River Cam and fenland farms are also easily accessible for study. There is even a site that transforms itself into a chariot racing arena on Roman Days!
