CEES Wisbech Castle:
Centrally located in the town, CEES’ classroom base at Wisbech Castle offers a wide range of educational opportunities.
The beautiful “secret garden” at the Castle lends itself to many learning activities, and the fully equipped Victorian parlour, kitchen and scullery in the main Castle building are convincing locations for historical role play.
Just beyond the Castle grounds, the town centre of Wisbech, with its harbour and innovative regeneration project are perfect locations for field work in an urban environment.
CEES has also joined forces with Wisbech Library and Wisbech and Fenland Museum to develop a lottery-funded project promoting the use of Wisbech as a teaching resource for heritage education. The day visit programme for key stage 2 children involves visiting the three Centres to explore “Upstairs, Downstairs – Childhood in Victorian Wisbech”.
